The Role of Europe

Europe has always been the centre of revolutionary thinking about human flourishing, global leadership, and a staunch defender of human rights.

Whilst there have been and continue to be challenges in Europe living up to it’s full potential, Europe still manages to get the balance right between the personal and professional, bringing greater depth and substance to thinking about what it means to 'live a life well-lived’ and the impact that has on politics and it’s role in the world.

The crisis of our times means that European leaders need to urgently manage the tensions inherent in our world in defending those rights whilst taking bold leaps in meeting the challenges of a new world order.

Having been born and brought up in Asia by British parents, lived and worked in the US and across the Global South, and now living in southern France, Caroline is excellently placed to understand the role of Europe at the crossroads of the global tensions in our world right now

Caroline believes that the current crises in our world are an opportunity for Europe to assert those ‘higher order’ values of freedom, equality, community and human rights in a way no other region can

“Liberté, égalité, fraternité.”

“Freedom, equality, brotherhood”

National motto of France

Where the United States has failed to develop a more sophisticated view of the world and what is needed for both our individual and collective flourishing, Europe has an opportunity to step up and show the world how to do things differently
